Challenge

The client required a solution for precise management of biocomponent transports and integration of data across multiple transportation modes—including pipelines and an extensive rail network. Key needs included operational safety and the ability to expand the system as requirements evolve.

Solution

The implemented SAMER®TAS system covers:

• support for multiple facilities (KOMAGRA and BIOAGRA),
• management of road, rail, and pipeline transportation,
• handling of transport data and shipping documentation,
• full warehouse management,
• laboratory integration for quality certificate handling,
• integration with automation systems for vehicle weighing, railcar weighing, loading operations, and pipeline transfers,
• integration with ERP systems,
• integration with the EMCS system,
• integration with the SENT system,
• generation of a wide range of reports, including: warehouse operations, vehicle dwell time on site, dispatches, receipts, and excise tax settlements for EMCS purposes.

The system is continuously monitored during operation and adapted to changing legal and technical requirements. It is also expanded with new functionalities as production needs evolve.

Results

The system significantly improved both the efficiency and safety of logistics operations. It offers the flexibility required in the fast-changing biofuel production environment, while ongoing service and support ensure its reliability.

Additional Information

The facilities produce methyl esters, technical-grade glycerin, and rapeseed oil for industrial use.
The system is maintained and supported by Merrid Controls.
